La Salle University & Athletics Department Mourns Loss of Kevin Davis

Kevin Davis

General | April 22, 2024

La Salle University and the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics mourns the loss of Kevin Davis, who passed away recently. Davis (1957-2024), a graduate of La Salle, was an avid supporter of the men's basketball program and devoted member of the La Salle community.

Kevin David Davis was the son of the late Walter Davis and Shirley Murray (Davis) and born on October 31, 1957 - on Halloween, which might explain his crazy and funny personality! Kevin was raised in Germantown where he lived with his mother and four siblings, Keith, Kirk, Kyle and Kristle. They were fondly referred to as "The 5 K's".

Kevin attended parochial schools for his early education and graduated from Cardinal Dougherty High School in 1975. Growing up, Kevin was not a fan of school and out of all the siblings, the one his mother least expected to attend college. Kevin loved sports and would spend hours at the playground playing his favorite - basketball. His disdain for school quickly changed and he began his road to academic excellence.

His journey began at Community College of Philadelphia where he received his Associates Degree in Data Processing. He then went on to La Salle University, where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. Kevin pursued his education further and attended University of Tennessee receiving his Master's Degree in Healthcare Planning & Administration. He went on to attend the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and received an Executive Education Certificate in 2001.  Kevin was scheduled to graduate this June from Drexel University with a Master's Degree of Health Administration.

Kevin was extremely career driven and utilized his knowledge and expertise to help develop and improve many health care corporations throughout the country. Kevin was always community minded with an energetic style that supported the successful achievement of organizational goals. While at the same time enhancing operations integration, creating cost savings and maximizing customer service. A true leader with proven results in financial and operations management, strategic planning and information technology. Kevin worked in team focused environments with multi-disciplinary stakeholders.

Kevin cultivated life time relationships with friends all over the world. The world will miss his loving smile, his infectious laughter, that booming voice and his amazing sense of humor. He will truly be missed by many. He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother Shirley Murray, his brothers Kirk Davis (Ethel) and Kyle Davis, his sister Kristle Broadwater (Herb) and a host of nieces, nephews and other close relatives, but also an amazing amount of friends all over the world.
