PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle men's soccer team will play its first home contest of the season against the NJIT Highlanders on Monday, August 26 at 7:00 p.m. at McCarthy Stadium.The Explorers enter the game at 0-0-1 after opening the season with a 0-0 draw against Lehigh.

SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS:
- La Salle enters tomorrow after a strong first performance of the season against the Lehigh Mountain Hawks tying them 0-0.
- Making his first appearance as an Explorer, Andoni Garrogerricarchebarria had strong offensive numbers against Lehigh leading the team in two shots, one shot on goal.
- Tino Kneis got the go ahead in goal for La Salle and fought off three saves in the draw. The Mountain Hawks fired 15 shots in total on the night.
- Kyrese Lynch-Bailey made the start for the Explorers as he entered his sophomore year campaign and provided one shot during the contest.
- Graduate students Nevin Baer and Colin Beasley each made their career debuts in a La Salle uniform against Lehigh. Both notched a shot, with Baer tallying one shot on goal in the process.
- Among other Explorers to make their career debuts for La Salle were Michael Chiha, Bilal Bell, and Alex Lawrence.
- Throughout the opening game, the Blue & Gold continued to put offensive pressure on their opponent, ending the game with ten corner kicks, and only allowing Lehigh to get off three.
SCOUTING THE HIGHLANDERS:
- Like La Salle, NJIT enters tomorrow with one game under its belt in which they tied Loyola Maryland 1-1 last Thursday.
- The goal scored for the Highlanders came from junior midfielder Sergio Martinez Cubel. The goal came in the 80th minute of the contest off of a penalty kick attempt.
- As a team NJIT was strong on the offensive end of the pitch in their first game, getting off 12 shots total, three of which on goal.
- Junior midfielder Alvaro Heredia led the Highlanders with three shots on the night, one on goal.
- Junior goalkeeper Devin Armstrong started the night in net for NJIT saving three shots and allowing one goal.
