Women’s Soccer Looks to Stretch Winning Streak at Lehigh

 PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle women's soccer team will hit the road for the first time since late August as the Explorers face off against the Lehigh Mountain Hawks. This will close the non-conference season for La Salle. The game will stream on ESPN+.

SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS
  • After an early season defeat at the hands of reigning Patriot League Champion Bucknell, La Salle has been on a roll with a 5-0-1 record. The Explorers are tied for the best record in the Atlantic-10 with Fordham.
  • La Salle claimed its fourth straight win on Friday, taking down Philly Soccer Six rival Temple, 5-1. Gabby Picco and Kamerson Rase were among those who scored for the Explorers.
  • Ricshya Walker stole the show, scoring a hat trick in the second half. It is the first hat trick an Explorer has scored since 10/9/22 against Fordham.
  • Haley Gschrey and Walker are tied for third in the Atlantic-10 in goals, with five. Justyce Hollenbach is tied for second in the league in assists (4), Gschrey and Gabby Picco also rank in the top ten for assists with three each.
  • The Explorers rank third in the Atlantic-10 in goals (19) and goals per game (2.7). La Salle has also been moving the ball effectively, with its 20 assists ranked second in the conference. Their 58 points lead the A-10.
  • The Explorers are led by head coach Paul Royal, who enters his 22nd season at the helm. Royal is one of the top coaches in the Atlantic 10, earning five trips to the NCAA Tournament during his tenure and has sent 16 players to the professional ranks. He was voted A-10 Coach of the Year for the fifth time last season.
  • Royal has amassed 216 wins in his head coaching career. He ranks 18th among active D1 coaches in wins at a single institution.
 
SCOUTING THE MOUNTAIN HAWKS
  • Lehigh is 1-3-2 on the season, with the win coming over Seton Hall. They are 0-2-2 in their last four games, most recently drawing Cornell.
  • Seven different Mountain Hawks have found the back of the net. No one player has scored more than one goal or passed for more than one assist.
  • Lauren Calabrese leads Lehigh in her third season. She has a 16-15-10 record during her tenure at the school.
