Auguadro Earns Second Shutout of the Season as Women’s Soccer Ties Lehigh

BETHLEHEM, Pa.  –  The La Salle women's soccer team tied the Lehigh Mountain Hawks, 0-0, on Thursday night. The draw extends the Explorers' unbeaten streak to seven games. Goalkeeper Michelle Auguadro made five saves to earn her second clean sheet of the season. She has allowed just two goals in the last four games.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The first ten minutes featured just one shot, an attempt wide from Sunni DiElmo.
  • Following another attempt by Haley Gschrey in the 11th minute, Lehigh created a couple of chances, both saved by Michele Auguadro.
  • Action stalled again until the 30th minute when Auguadro stopped her third attempt of the match.
  • Following Auguardo's fourth save of the first half, La Salle unleashed an offensive onslaught. Three shots in quick succession were blocked by the Lehigh defense as the half wound down. The first frame ended with the teams knotted at zero.
  • Lehigh continued to put pressure on in the second half with a shot on net in the 49th minute.
  • La Salle kept the pressure up, with five shots in the closing 15 minutes of the first half. The game stayed knotted at one heading into the half.
  • The match got chippy as the teams exchanged yellow cards. No further shots were fired till the 73rd minute when Lehigh fired one off target.
  • Gschrey had a good look in the 76th minute but fired the ball just over the crossbar.
  • La Salle rallied in the final ten minutes for an offensive charge, with shots on goal from Walker and Gabby Picco. Ella Cadigan had perhaps the best opportunity of the contest, firing a ball towards an open portion of the net. The ball sailed just over the cage.
  • The Explorers kept firing, with DiElmo getting in on the action in the 88th minute.
  • Neither side was able to break through as time expired in the contest.
