Men's Soccer Holds Firm on Road, Earns Draw against Quinnipiac

Box Score HAMDEN, Conn. – The La Salle men's soccer team fought hard against Quinnipiac, with its defense standing firm in a scoreless draw. With the draw, the team earns its fifth point of the season.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Tobi Osoba had a great chance in the second minute when a shot from just outside the box was pushed off by the Quinnipiac goalie for a corner.
  • In goal for the Explorers for the fifth game this season, Tino Kneis made a pair of saves in the first half, including a stop in the eighth minute.
  • Andrew Rosenbaum connected his head with a corner kick in the 32nd minute, but his header was saved by the Quinnipiac keeper.
  • Quinnipiac had a curling shot that hit the crossbar and out in the 43rd minute, and the teams entered the half scoreless.
  • Dylan Kwasnik sent in a cross in the 51st minute that curled towards goal, which was saved by Quinnipiac's goalie.
  • The Explorers kept firing out shots, including one by Michael Chiha from just outside the box that went a little right of the goal in the 57th minute.
  • In the 82nd minute, the Explorers went down to 10 men as Nevin Baer picked up a red card.
  • La Salle would keep fighting offensively even at a man disadvantage, with a long-range blast shot by Alexandru Zama pushed out for a corner kick in the 84th minute.
  • Down a man for the final eight minutes, Kneis made two late saves, including a diving stop to his left in the 86th minute to keep it 0-0.

  • After being outshot eight to two in the first half, La Salle had eight total shots in the second half compared to Quinnipiac's five.
