HOW IT HAPPENED:
  •  The entirety of the first half remained even on both sides of the field.
  • The Explorers and Bald Eagles each came out in search of early scoring opportunities, and they found them, to no avail.
  • La Salle was out-shot in the first frame 4-3, and then turned the tables in the second to out-shoot Lock Haven 4-2.
  • Sofia Pla, Matilda Diedrichsen, and Malena Balduzzi each recorded two shots for the Explorers, but we remained scoreless after the first 30 minutes of play.
  • The second half started with a continuation of the back-and-forth play in the opening 30 minutes. Towards the end of the third, however, the Bald Eagles had their best opportunity of the afternoon.
  • Brooke Hofsass got a shot off in the box, but was fouled in the process, sending her to the line for a penalty stroke opportunity.
  • The shot clanked off the left post, and the game remained scoreless going into the fourth.
  • Penalty corners were abundant in the final frame as both sides were searching for the goal to break the game open.
  • La Salle ended the game with five corners in the fourth, unable to convert on one of them.
  • The Bald Eagles found the lone goal of the day on a broken-down play that spanned the entire field. Once the ball was in the scoring third of the field, Lock Haven seized their chance and connected for the game's only goal.
  • Paula Sigley scored her first goal of the season off of the rebound to give the Bald Eagles the win.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Abby Boggs ended the game with four saves, tied for the most she's had in a game this season.
  • The Lock Haven defense was stout in the second half as they allowed the Explorers to only get one shot off.
  • La Salle had the edge in penalty corners 8-7.
  • Two cards in the contest were both given to Explorers.
