LAST TIME OUT - LA SALLE 72, FORDHAM 88
- La Salle fell to the Fordham Rams, 88-72 on Wednesday. The Rams shot 52% from the field.
- The Explorers trailed by 14 points at halftime. La Salle battled back, cutting the lead to under 10 points several times in the second half, but a late run by Fordham put the game out of reach for the Blue & Gold.
- Deuce Jones had one of the best individual performances of any Explorer this season. The guard scored a career-high 24 points, as well as tying his career-high in steals (4) and field goals (8). His 24 points are tied for the third-most by a La Salle freshman in the 21st century, and the most since Aaric Murray scored the same number in 2010, also against Fordham.
- Elsewhere on the statsheet, Jahlil White had one of his better games of the season, scoring 14 points and grabbing nine rebounds.
NEWS AND NOTES
- Rebounding has been established as the Explorers' calling card this season. La Salle ranks fourth in the A-10 in rebounding (38.4), its most rebounds per game since 1990-91 (40.2). The Explorers check in at 58th nationally in the category. After the Immaculata game on Dec. 21, the Explorers have recorded two games with over 50 rebounds for the first time since 2011 (4).
- Corey McKeithan leads La Salle in scoring with 15.7 points, good for 10th in the conference. McKeithan scored 20-plus points for the seventh time this season. The guard has excelled in getting to the line, knocking down 11-12 free throws in his last two games.
- Demetrius Lilley is pulling down 7.1 boards per game, ranking 9th in the Atlantic-10. Lilley is in the midst of the best rebounding season by an Explorer since Ed Croswell in 2019-20.
- Shepherd is second on the team in scoring, adding 11.4 points per game. He has scored in double-figures in 15 of the Explorers' 21 games. He played all but 30 seconds against Fordham, his second consecutive game playing over 39 minutes.
- Jones has dazzled in his rookie campaign. He is the first Explorer to win Rookie of the Week four times in the same season since 2002-03 when Gary Neal accomplished the same feat. Jones leads the A-10 in assists amongst freshmen (2.5 apg) and is second in scoring (11.4 ppg).
- Jahlil White rounds out the starting five. The graduate transfer from Temple is averaging 9.5 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. His scoring outburst against Fordham marked the first time he has reached double-figures since Loyola Chicago in early January.
- Eric Acker has made a large impact off the bench after sitting out the first 10 games of the season. He is adding 7.6 points per game through his first nine games.
SCOUTING GEORGE WASHINGTON
- George Washington is 15-6 overall and 4-4 in the Atlantic-10. The squad has won its last two games, including an impressive win over Saint Louis last Saturday.

- Chris Caputo leads George Washington in his third season. He is 46-39 during his time in D.C. Prior to his time at GW, he spent 11 years at Miami (FL).
