Philadelphia, PA — The La Salle field hockey team turned in a dominant performance Friday morning at Ellen Ryan Field, shutting out Lock Haven, 3–0, to earn its fourth win of the season.
The Explorers wasted no time getting on the board, as junior Darian DeLeo scored just over four minutes into the match off a feed from sophomore Roos Pasveer. Freshman Kelsey Rowe doubled the advantage midway through the first half, notching her first goal of the season to push the lead to two.
La Salle continued to control possession and pressure the Bald Eagles' defense throughout, outshooting Lock Haven 19–12 and holding a 7–6 edge in corners. Junior Marisol Torreyson capped the scoring early in the fourth quarter, putting the finishing touches on a 3-0 victory.
In goal, junior Abby Boggs and freshman Zarah Synnestvedt combined for the shutout, tallying five saves between them. DeLeo and freshman Annabel Leussink led the attack with three shots apiece, while Pasveer added her third assist of the season.
With the win, La Salle improves to 4–8, while Lock Haven falls to 0–12 on the season. The Explorers return to action on Sunday at The Penn State Field Hockey Complex, taking on Mercyhurst.
