Women's Basketball To Travel To Lehigh Amidst Best Offensive Start Since 2001

Bethlehem, PA - The La Salle women's basketball team will take on Lehigh on the road on Tuesday with tip-off set for 6:00 PM at Stabler Arena. Through two games, the Explorers have scored 155 points, their highest total through two games since the 2001-02 season.




Career Games

In the team's first two games, many players  set new career-highs in various statistics. Against Loyola (MD), Aryss Macktoon set new career-highs in points (25) and rebounds (10) and Ashleigh Connor set new bests in free throws made (9) and free throws attempted (14).

Against Saint Francis, Connor scored a career-high 22 points while also tying her her best assist total (5). Joan Quinn also set a career-high in steals (5).

Get Your Numbers Up

While the sample size may be small, the Explorers are scoring over 20 more points per game than last season, taking two more shots per contest and shooting nearly 50% from the field. Ashleigh Connor leads the way averaging 21.5 points per game shooting 54.5% from the field and 57.1% from three-point range.

The Big 3

Through two games, the returning trio of Ashleigh Connor, Aryss Macktoon, and Joan Quinn combined to average 52 points, 17 rebounds, and 11.5 assists, up from 30 points, 13 rebounds, and 6 assists per game last season.

New Faces

Freshman Kiara Williams impressed in her first week of collegiate action, averaging 9.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 3.5 assists. While she shot 80% from the field, she also tallied nine fouls in two games, earning a disqualification at Loyola (MD) and playing limited minutes against Saint Francis.

Scouting the Mountain Hawks

On Saturday, Lehigh dropped a road contest at Fairfield by a final score of 88-60, their worst blowout loss since falling to Michigan 86-55 in their second game last season. In the Mountain Hawks' only other game this season, they defeated Cincinnati on the road by a final score of 88-85, their first win over a Power Five opponent since taking down Northwestern last November.

Through her team's first two games, junior guard Jessie Ozzauto leads the Mountain Hawks in points and rebounds while shooting 70% from three-point range. She's already only 16 points away from matching her season-total from 2024-25.

All-Time Matchup

The Explorers have faced Lehigh nine times since the 2008-09 season, with La Salle holding a 5-4 advantage in those matchups. La Salle has won five out of the last six contests between the two, with the most recent coming last season by a final score of 65-62. Ashleigh Connor and Aryss Macktoon each scored 15 points and Joan Quinn added four steals in the thrilling victory.

The year prior, the Mountain Hawks got the best of Mountain MacGillivray and company, scoring 106 points in their highest scoring game in program history. Then-senior Ella Stemmer scored 33 points in the win.
