Men’s Basketball Set To Take On Penn State At Xfinity Mobile Arena

Philadelphia, PA – The La Salle men's basketball team will face off with Penn State as part of the "Basketball on Broad: Autumn Invitational" at Xfinity Mobile Arena on Saturday at 1:00 pm on Peacock.

Walker's Big Start

Freshman Ashton Walker earned Big 5 Rookie of the Week honors for his performances against Coppin State and Monmouth. Walker has dished out 16 assists in three games, which is second in the Atlantic 10, while his assist/turnover ratio of 5.33 ranks 57th in the country.

Marshall Leads The Way

Through three games, graduate student Jaeden Marshall leads the Explorers in scoring with 16.7 points per game.
Marshall is one of seven players in the country to have 16 or more free throws on the season without a miss from the line.

Getting To The Line

With 29 free throw attempts per game, La Salle is 46th in the country. Under Darris Nichols, Radford was 20th in the country in free throw attempts in 2024-25.

The Future Is Now

The Explorers announced four additions on Wednesday. Mason Blazer, Breylon Webb, Francois Nkoy-Eale, and RJ Smith will join the Blue and Gold for the 2026-27 season.

The Series

Saturday's game marks the sixth all-time meeting between the Explorers and Nittany Lions, with La Salle holding a 3-2 advantage in the previous five games. La Salle won the first meeting in the 1954 Final Four. Most recently both teams split a home and home series in 2012 and 2013.

Rebound That Jawn

La Salle's 20 offensive rebounds against Monmouth were the most since January 9, 2013 against Charlotte.
To start the season, the Explorers had 40+ rebounds in consecutive games for the first time since December 2019.

Scouting The Nittany Lions

Penn State is 3-0 for the fourth straight year after victories over Fairfield, New Haven, and Navy to start the season.
