This Week In La Salle Athletics: Four Home Basketball Games; Swimming And Diving Embark On Busy Week

Here is a look of the action to come this week for La Salle Athletics, brought to you by Hershey's Ice Cream.   
 
Men's Basketball 
  • The Explorers will resume Big 5 play against Villanova on Wednesday at 7:00 pm at John E. Glaser Arena. 
  • La Salle will take on Lancaster Bible on Saturday at 5:00 pm at home.

Women's Basketball 
  • On Tuesday, the Explorers will return home for the first time since Homecoming to take on D-II West Chester at 6:30 pm.  
  • Four days later, the team will take on American at home at 1:00 as part of a double-header with the men's team. 
  • Junior Aryss Macktoon ranks first in the conference in steals (4.8).

Swimming 
  • The La Salle swim teams return to the Queens Fall Frenzy this year in Charlotte, N.C. The four-day meet starts on Thursday at 5 pm. 
  • Junior swimmer Carter Perkins won the 50-yd and 100-yd freestyle races in the teams' last meet, which was against Villanova. He also helped set a pool record in the 400-yd free relay.

Diving 
  • The Explorers diving teams will compete in the WVU Diving Invitational this weekend, with the three-day meet starting Thursday at 10 am. 
  • Junior Tiffany Brawn won both women's diving events in the teams' meet against Villanova on November 1.

Women's Cross Country 
  • Gwenno Goode will represent Explorers cross country in the NCAA Championship meet on Saturday morning in Columbia, MO. The race will start at 10:20 am and will be televised on ESPNU. 
  • Goode placed 17th in the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional race last Friday, securing the final individual qualifying bid from the region.
