Men's Basketball Travels To LIU For Saturday Hoops Action

PHILADELPHIA, PA – La Salle men's basketball will look to stay in the win column as the Explorers travel outside of Philadelphia for the first time this season, facing LIU at Steinberg Wellness Center on Saturday at 4 p.m.

Staying Disciplined

The Explorers enter the game committing just 14.3 fouls per game, the best mark in the Atlantic 10, while rounding out the nation's top 15.

La Salle is 4-1 on the season when leading at halftime, and 3-1 when they commit fewer turnovers than their opponent.

Rebound That Jawn

With 13.1 offensive rebounds per game, La Salle ranks fourth in the Atlantic 10 and tied for 76th in the nation. The Explorers have outrebounded their opponent in seven of their 10 games.

Harris Finding His Stride

Graduate forward Josiah Harris recorded his second straight double-double to lead the Explorers to a 69-64 win against Drexel at the Toyota Big 5 Classic last Saturday. 

Against the Dragons, Harris poured in a career-high 21 points, shooting 10-of-14 from the field. Harris also grabbed a season-high 13 rebounds, the most by any La Salle player during the 2025-26 campaign.

Harris is averaging 18.5 points per game in his last two appearances while shooting 61.5% from the field.

Marshall Leads The Way

Jaeden Marshall leads the team with 11.6 points per game and 15 3-point field goals. The graduate guard also leads the team in all free-throw shooting categories. 

Marshall is shooting 88.6% from the free-throw line this season, the sixth-best percentage in the Atlantic 10 and 77th in the nation.

Marshall scored 15 points in the win against Drexel and made a pair of free throws with three seconds left in the game to secure the victory.

Walker Continues To Impress

Freshman Ashton Walker leads La Salle with 28 minutes per game and assists (39). Walker is tied for second on the squad in points (84). His assist/turnover ratio of 2.4 ranks third in the Atlantic 10. 

Starting Shuffle

Through 10 games, La Salle has had nine different starting lineups. 12 players have started at least one game this season.

The Series

LIU holds a 5-3 edge in the all-time series. In the last meeting, La Salle earned a 68-53 victory at Madison Square Garden on Dec. 5, 1970.

Scouting the Sharks

Last Saturday, four LIU players scored in double figures as the Sharks earned an 87-82 road victory at Lehigh.

Malachi Davis, a redshirt senior guard, led the way for LIU with his eighth straight double-digit scoring effort of the season. Davis is second on the team in scoring, averaging 15.4 points per game. 

Davis filled up the stat sheet with a season-high 30 points on 12-of-23 shooting, a career-high 10 rebounds, seven assists, and a career-high five steals in 39 minutes. 

Jamal Fuller, the team leader in points per game with 15.6, registered his third overall and second straight 20-point scoring effort of the season, finishing with 20 points and six rebounds in the win against the Mountain Hawks. 

Fuller, the Sharks' leader in 3-point field goals with 14, shot 4-of-5 from 3-point range against Lehigh.

LIU ranks 56th in the nation in team 3-point field goal percentage, shooting 37% from beyond the arc.

Next Up

La Salle will travel to High Point on Dec. 19 at 7 p.m. and will have a quick turnaround after, facing No. 2 Michigan (8-0) on Saturday, Dec. 21, at 4 p.m. EST.
