HIGH POINT, N.C. – The La Salle men's basketball team fell 84-72 to High Point in a non-conference matchup at Qubein Arena on Friday night, dropping to 4-8 on the season.
Jaeden Marshall delivered a standout performance for the Explorers, scoring 22 points on 6-of-13 shooting and a perfect 8-for-8 from the free-throw line, marking his second 20-point game of the season and the second-highest scoring output of his collegiate career.
Freshman Ashton Walker eclipsed 100 points on the season with a 14-point, six-rebound showing, setting new career highs in free throws made (8) and attempted (9).
Graduate student Josiah Harris added 12 points and a team-high seven rebounds, matching his collegiate career best with six made free throws.
Edwin Daniel was efficient around the rim, contributing nine points on 4-of-5 shooting and tying his career high with three blocks.
The Explorers battled to keep pace as High Point found success from beyond the arc, hitting seven 3-pointers in the opening half. Despite a strong effort in the paint and at the foul line, La Salle trailed 35-29 at halftime after the hosts closed the half on a run.
La Salle continued to attack the basket and closed the gap on multiple occasions, but High Point's bench production and 3-point shooting proved decisive down the stretch.
The Explorers held a 30-22 edge in points in the paint and made 28 free throws on 36 attempts, setting several career and season highs at the line.
