PHILADELPHIA, PA – The La Salle men's basketball team returns to John E. Glaser Arena to host the George Mason in the Atlantic 10 conference opener on Wednesday, Dec. 31 at 2 p.m.
Rebound That Jawn
La Salle ranks second in the Atlantic 10 and 63rd in the nation with 13.2 offensive rebounds per game. La Salle has outrebounded their opponent in nine of their 13 games.
Marshall Leads The Way
Graduate student Jaeden Marshall leads the team with 12.8 points per game and 21 3-point field goals. Marshall has made at least one 3-point field goal in his last six games.
In the Explorers' last game at No. 2 Michigan, Marshall scored a team-high 15 points and shot 10-of-11 from the free-throw line, his second game this season with 10 or more made free throws.
Against High Point, Marshall delivered a standout performance, scoring 22 points on 6-of-13 shooting and a perfect 8-for-8 from the free-throw line, marking his second 20-point game of the season.
Marshall is shooting 49-of-54 (90.7%) from the free-throw line this season, the third-best percentage in the A-10 and the 31st-best in the nation.
Walker Continues To Impress
Freshman guard Ashton Walker leads La Salle with 11 starts, 27.8 minutes per game and 48 assists. Walker is second on the squad with 113 points.
Walker ranks fifth in the A-10 in assists (48) and assists per game (3.7). His assist/turnover ratio of 2.2 is tied for fifth-best in the league.
Block Party
Edwin Daniel ranks fourth in the A-10 with 17 blocks and 1.3 blocks per game.
Kicking Off A-10 Play
La Salle is looking for its first win in an A-10 opener since Jan. 5, 2019. The Explorers went 5-13 in conference play last season earning victories against St. Bonaventure, Davidson, Rhode Island, George Washington, and Saint Joseph's.
Starting Shuffle
Through 13 games, La Salle has rolled out 12 different starting lineups. 12 players have started at least one game, while freshman guard Ashton Walker leads the way with 11 starts on the season.
Home Sweet Home
La Salle will end a 39-day gap between home games, which is believed to be the longest gap between home games in the country.
The Series
George Mason has a 10-3 lead in the all-time series. Four players reached double figures for the Explorers in last season's meeting, but the Patriots prevailed 69-62. La Salle is looking for its first win in the series since 2022.
Scouting The Patriots
George Mason is tied for eighth in the nation in win percentage (.923) after beginning non-conference play 12-1, with a 10-0 record at home and a 2-0 record in neutral-site games.
The Patriots are just outside the nation's top 10 in two stat categories, ranking 11th in free throws made per game (20.6) and 12th in free throw attempts per game (27.9), both best in the A-10.
George Mason has five players averaging 10 or more points per game, including the A-10's leading scorer Kory Mincy (17.9 PPG), Jahari Long (12.3 PPG), Riley Allenspach (12.2 PPG), Masai Troutman (11.3 PPG), and Fatt Hill (11.0 PPG).

La Salle will head to the nation's capital to take on George Washington on Jan. 3 at 2 p.m. The team's split the series last season with the Explorers earning a 73-67 victory at home on Feb. 1, 2025.
