- Baskets made by Etienne and Jones kept the Explorers up as Richmond closed the gap to two with 7:28 to go.
- After a slow period of play in which both teams combined for four points in four minutes, a Deuce Jones layup and Daeshon Shepherd three-pointer built La Salle's lead to seven.
- Jones capped the Explorers' scoring in the first half with a long three with two seconds left to put the squad up 35-30 at the break.
Second Half:

- After an Etienne jumper, the Spiders retook the lead with a three to put them ahead 42-41 with 11:37 left.
- Despite a key three pointer from Shepherd, the teams battled ferociously to gain control, with six lead changes in four minutes. Richmond broke the stalemate to build an eight point lead, 54-46.
- The Explorers followed that with an 8-2 run, buoyed by free throws from White and Shepherd.
