Women's Basketball Travels To Saint Louis Looking For Second Consecutive Road Win

Saint Louis, MO - The La Salle women's basketball team will travel to Saint Louis on Saturday, with tip-off set for 7:00 pm. 

Armendariz' Big Night

Graduate student Jolene Armendariz scored a season-high 15 points in Wednesday night's game against Richmond. Knocking down three-point shots on consecutive possessions twice, Armendariz connected on a season-high five three-pointers in the loss.

Consistency Is Key

Junior Ayisse Magassa is the lone Explorer to start all 25 games this season. Magassa, who is third on the team in points, is averaging 7.7 points per game and has scored in double figures in two of her last three games. 

Fox's Career Week

Junior Ivy Fox made the most out of her first two collegiate starts last week, helping the Explorers win at St. Bonaventure before setting new career-highs with 12 points, five rebounds, and 30 minutes played against Massachusetts. 

Quinn Delivers Again

Joan Quinn earned a spot on the Atlantic 10 and Big 5 Honor Rolls for the second consecutive week and scored 12 points on 4-8 accuracy against Richmond.
Quinn is averaging 14.1 points per game in her last seven games and has increased her average by close to two points per game in that span. On the season, Quinn is averaging 9.5 points per game.

The Series

The Billikens have won the last two matchups between the two teams and lead the all-time series 12-8. La Salle's last win over Saint Louis came in 2022, a 73-65 victory at then-named Tom Gola Arena.

Scouting The Billikens

Saint Louis enters Saturday's matchup with a 9-15 overall record and 3-8 mark in Atlantic 10 competition. The Billikens are 6-6 at home and 2-2 in their last four games.

Crashing The Boards 

The Explorers rank 65th in the country with 13.3 offensive rebounds per game, good for fifth in the Atlantic 10. 
 
Connor Leads The Way 

Redshirt Sophomore Ashleigh Connor leads the Explorers with 11.9 points and 3.1 assists per contest. Connor, who has scored in double figures in 14 of her last 19 games, averaged 13 points last week and ranks fourth in the Atlantic 10 with a 79.3% free throw percentage this season. 

The Magic Formula

The Explorers are 6-1 on the season when scoring 65 points or more and 7-3 when hitting 23 or more field goals throughout a contest.  

Stealing The Ball

The Explorers rank fifth in the Atlantic 10 with nine steals per contest.
