Ambler, PA – The La Salle men's golf team kicked off their spring season with a decisive victory over Wagner College in a dual match at Talamore Country Club on Tuesday, March 11.
Both teams fielded seven players, with the top five scores from each squad counting toward the overall team total.
Sophomore
Gavin Dosch led the charge for the Blue and Gold, firing an even-par 71, which included four birdies at the Explorers' home course. His performance was the standout of the day, as he was the only player in the field not to finish over par.
Junior
Benjamin Battye, coming off a strong fall season, placed third with a +3, 74, while junior
Armand Loscalzo and senior
Alex Gekas tied for fourth with a +4, 75.
Graduate student
Matt Lafond and freshman
Payton Hawke finished tied for eighth, each posting a +7, 78. Senior
Ryan Smiley rounded out the scoring for the Explorers with a +10, 81.
La Salle will next compete in the Carpetbagger Classic at Worthington Manor Golf Course in Urbana, MD, marking their debut in the event.
