EDISON, N.J. – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference announced its end-of-season awards, with
Martina Bonet Saez and
Francesca Co' both earning first-team All-MAAC Honors. Additionally, 13 Explorers were named to the MAAC All-Academic team.
For Co' it is the third time she has earned first-team All-Conference honors. She is the first player in program history to earn first-team All-Conference recognition three times. The attacker led the team with 82 goals, she also added 31 assists, while leading the team in steals (37) and blocks (24). The senior is the program leader in goals, points, and steals.
Bonet Saez built on a stellar freshman season with her first All-MAAC honor. The native of Spain was second on the team with 68 goals. She ranked second on the team with 32 assists and racked up 110 points. For the second straight season, Bonet Saez led the team on defense, with a squad-best 49 steals.
Bonet Saez and Co' also earned All-Academic honors from the league. They are joined by
Katelyn Cuthbert,
Claire Durham,
Amanda Fadil,
Allie Hollo,
Sofia Kolovou,
Tatum Lomax,
Paige Mitchell,
Grace Smith,
Ella Tice,
Whitney Wood, and
Carlotta Zandali on the MAAC All-Academic Team. To be eligible for the team, the student-athletes had to have completed at least two semesters at their institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of a 3.20 on a 4.0 scale.
