PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle men's soccer team battled to a 1-1 draw against the Lehigh Mountain Hawks Thursday evening at McCarthy Stadium.

The Mountain Hawks broke the deadlock late in the first half as Bora Turker scored the opening goal in the 44th minute, with Giacomo Zizza and Beckett Wenger providing the assists to put Lehigh ahead 1-0 at the 44th minute.

La Salle continued to press in the second half and finally broke through in the 88th minute when Lucas Kelley buried the equalizer to rescue a point for the Explorers.

Both sides had opportunities in a physical contest that featured 30 fouls and seven cards, including a late red card to Lehigh's Aiden Gonzalez in the closing moments.

Lehigh outshot La Salle 10-7, while La Salle goalkeeper Tino Kneis recorded four saves to preserve the tie. Lehigh's Anton Kinnumen made two stops in the other  goal.

The Explorers return to action next week when they travel for a non-conference matchup against #16 nationally ranked West Virginia.
