Philadelphia, PA - On a muggy afternoon, the La Salle Rugby team battled hard but ultimately fell to visiting Frostburg State, 34-24, Saturday afternoon at DeVincent Field.
La Salle saw a diverse contribution on the scoresheet, with
Quinn Franck,
Jocelyn Widrig,
Carolina Martinez, and
Claire Meislahn scoring one try each, while
Taylor Major went 2-for-4 on conversions.
The Explorers got off to an early start off Franck's try 6:30 into the first half, and would race out to a 17-5 lead at the half after additional tries from Widrig (14:30) and Martinez (34:50).
Frostburg scored the match's next 17 points to open up a 34-17 lead before Meislahn broke free for a La Salle try with just over two minutes remaining in the match.
La Salle is back in action on Saturday, September 20, when the Explorers hit the road to Annapolis and take on Navy.
