Explorers Race At Quaker Invitational

Philadelphia, PA – La Salle men's and women track & field returned to the Ott Center to race in the Quaker Invitational Saturday afternoon, their second meet of the indoor season.

On the men's side, freshman Ryan Stankiewicz led the way for the squad in the 60-meter dash, getting a time of 6.98 to place 12th. Sophomore Callum Murray made a strong season debut in the 800-meter run, placing fourth while completing the event in 1:53.22. In the 1k run, senior Chanel Muir was second with a time of 2:22.39, while freshman Sean Cronin had an impressive collegiate indoor debut with a sixth-place finish (time of 2:25.08). Freshman Jacob Gardner placed seventh in the mile (4:11.72), and junior Charlie Rogers won for La Salle the 3k, with a deciding time of 8:22.86. 

For the women, junior Soleil Morrison placed ninth overall in the 60-meter dash, completing it in 7.6. In the 400-meter dash, she got sixth with a time of 57.23. Sophomore Adaugo Ilonze improved on her 60-meter hurdles time, getting a personal best of 9.18 to place 13th. Freshman Beca Bown's first indoor race for La Salle was impressive, finishing the 1k in 2:58.6 to get seventh, while sophomore Gillian Lovett went sixth in the mile with a time of 4:55.59.

The teams will next compete in New York, NY in the Dr. Sander Scorcher, a two-day meet that starts Friday at 9:00 am.
