PHILADELPHIA, PA – The La Salle men's basketball team (6-13, 2-4 A-10) returns to John E. Glaser Arena to take on Dayton (14-4, 5-0 A-10) in an Atlantic 10 conference matchup on Wednesday, Jan. 21, at 6:30 p.m., presented by Moyer.
Brewed To Perfection
Redshirt junior forward Jerome Brewer Jr. powered La Salle past St. Bonaventure with a season-high 27 points, the most by an Explorer in a game this season. He shot a perfect 9-of-9 from the field and 6-of-6 from the free-throw line.
Brewer Jr. nearly tied the program record for the best single-game field goal percentage, which is believed to be held by Victor Thomas, who shot 10-for-10 from the field on Jan. 6, 1999, in an 85-73 home win against Duquesne. Thomas also led the A-10 in field goal percentage that season (1998-99).
Brewer Jr. leads the Explorers during A-10 play with 14.8 points per game and is shooting a team-best 59.6% from the field in conference games, the seventh-highest percentage in the league during A-10 play.
Marshall Leads The Way
Graduate student guard Jaeden Marshall leads the team with 13 points per game and 35 3-point field goals. Marshall is also shooting 59-of-66 (89.4%) from the free-throw line this season, the third-best percentage in the A-10 while ranking 36th in the nation.
Marshall elected to come off the bench for the game against St. Bonaventure and delivered his third 20+ point outing of the season. He exploded for 23 points and tied his all-time single-game high with five 3-point field goals in the victory, shooting 5-of-10 from beyond the arc.
What's Up, Dock?
Redshirt sophomore guard Rob Dockery is averaging 11.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 2.3 assists during A-10 play while shooting 55.8% from the field. Dockery has delivered two 20+ point scoring outings this season in conference play.
Dockery was a key factor in the Explorers' win against St. Bonaventure, recording 10 points, four rebounds, and a team-high six assists, while committing only one turnover in 33 minutes of action.
Practice Makes Perfect at the Charity Stripe
La Salle shot a perfect 20-for-20 at the free-throw line against St. Bonaventure, surpassing the program record, which is believed to be 13-for-13 set on Feb. 13, 1988, in a 75-57 win at Fairfield.
In A-10 play, La Salle is third in the league with 143 free throw attempts, averaging 23.8 free throw attempts during the six-game stretch. The Explorers shot 39 free throws against Saint Louis, the most by any team in a single A-10 game this season.
Post Presence
During A-10 play, graduate student forward Josiah Harris is averaging 11.5 points and a team-high six rebounds per game. Harris has hauled in a team-best 18 offensive rebounds during A-10 play, the fourth most in the league.
Defend Without Fouling
La Salle is committing just 15.7 fouls per game, which ranks 47th in the NCAA.
Starting Shuffle
Through 19 games, the Blue and Gold have rolled out 15 different starting lineups. 13 players have started at least one game this season.
The Series
The all-time series dates back to 1952. Dayton leads the series 33-19, including three straight victories. The Flyers earned an 84-70 win on New Year's Eve last season (Dec. 31, 2024) with five players scoring in double figures.
Scouting The Flyers
Dayton is currently 73rd in the NET ranking. The Flyers are one of three A-10 teams that are unbeaten during league play. The first four A-10 games for Dayton were all decided by seven points or less before they defeated Loyola Chicago in their last outing, 78-51.
The Flyers rank sixth in the nation in free throws per game (20.2) and turnovers forced per game (16.7). They lead the A-10 with 9.8 steals per game, which ranks 11th in the nation.
Dayton has two of the top 10 scorers in the A-10. Javon Bennett ranks third in the league with 16.8 points per game, and De'Shayne Montgomery is ninth in the A-10 with 15.1 points per contest.

La Salle will travel to Fordham to take on the Rams on Wednesday, Jan. 28, at 7 p.m. Fordham earned an 88-72 victory in the lone meeting last season.
