Track & Field Competes In Dr. Sander Scorcher

New York, NY – The La Salle men's and women track & field teams returned to The Armory to compete in the Dr. Sander Scorcher on Friday and Saturday afternoon.

Sophomore Cara Coppolino got the Explorers started with a first place finish in the women's open 3k (10:02.06). The women continued to impress on day 1, as freshman Carleen Lionel (7.967) and senior Neve Moulai (9:37.34) placed top-10 in the women's open 60-meter and invitational 3k respectively. Moulai's time ranks 103rd in the nation this season. Freshman Jacob Gardner wrapped up the first day of competition with a 6th place finish in the men's invitational 3k (8:14.21).

On day two, La Salle impressed in various 200-meter events, as sophomore Adaugo Ilonze (25.860), freshman Jordan Grady (22.51), and junior Soleil Morrison (24.85) each placed top-10 in their respective events. The men's distance runners finished the meet in stride, as senior Chanel Muir placed second overall in the mile with the 55th best time this season nationally (4:01.45) while senior Charlie Hazlett (13:59.75) and sophomores, Charlie Rogers (14:07.15) and Matt Hill (14:23.29) all placed top-10 in the men's 5k. Hazlett's time ranks 83rd nationally this season.

The teams will return next weekend at the Penn Invite hosted at the Ott Center. The meet is slated to begin Friday at noon and will be streamed on ESPN+.
