Women's Soccer Drops A-10 Battle Against Saint Louis, 2-1

PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle women's soccer team dropped a hard-fought Atlantic 10 battle to league leader Saint Louis, falling 2-1 on Thursday night at McCarthy Stadium.

La Salle moved to 7-5-4 overall and 4-2-2 in the Atlantic 10, falling to fifth place in the conference standings. Saint Louis improved to 10-2-4 overall and remained undefeated in the league, moving to 6-0-2 in conference play.

Reigning Atlantic 10 Offensive Player of the Week Justyce Hollenbach scored a goal in her fifth straight game, extending her league-leading totals to 13 goals and 28 points. Hollenbach is now tied for eighth in the NCAA in goals during the 2026 campaign.

Saint Louis struck first in the sixth minute with a goal from Ashley Miller. Justyce Hollenbach answered for the Explorers in the 24th minute when Caroline Knowles brought down forward Kameron Rase inside the 18-yard box, setting up Hollenbach, who calmly buried her third penalty kick of the season.

La Salle nearly took a 2-1 lead early in the second half, but Pepper Escher denied freshman forward Shiloh Moore on consecutive attempts, including a diving save.

Saint Louis scored the game-winning goal in the 59th minute when Hope Kim found the back of the net off an assist from Lucie Schwartz. The decisive sequence came on the second of back-to-back corner kicks for the Billikens.

The Billikens finished with a 13-12 edge in total shots and a 5-4 advantage in shots on target. Each team recorded three saves.

The Explorers will travel to face third-place George Mason (9-4-3, 5-2-1 A10) on Sunday, October 25. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. at George Mason Stadium.
