Philadelphia, PA – For the second consecutive weekend to open the season, La Salle will be moving a series to home at Hank DeVincent Field.
The Explorers' upcoming three-game weekend tilt against Delaware State, initially scheduled in Dover, DE, will now be played on campus at La Salle.
The two teams will play a doubleheader on Friday, with Game 1 starting at 10:30 am and Game 2 set for 2:30 pm. The teams will then play the third game of the three-game set on Sunday at 12:00 noon.
The series was initially slated to be played on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at Delaware State, much like last weekend's series against Maryland Eastern Shore, which also got moved to home at 20
th and Olney.
There will be no live stream for the weekend series, but attendance to all La Salle baseball games is free.
The Explorers will look to get back to their winning ways, entering the series with a 3-1 record despite a two-run setback in their midweek game at Delaware on Tuesday. La Salle swept Maryland Eastern Shore on opening weekend last Friday-Sunday, posting 48 total runs in the friendly confines of "The Hank".
Alec Welshans will enter the series with a chance to take sole possession of the nation's lead in home runs. The Atlantic 10 Player of the Week belted a homer over The Hank's left field wall in all three of La Salle's home games last weekend, and then went yard on Tuesday at Delaware, giving him four on the season which is currently tied for second-best in the country. The top number is five.
La Salle is now scheduled to play 27 total home games during the 2026 regular season. That is good for nearly half of the team's 56 total contests in its first year back in action since 2021.
