Philadelphia, PA – The La Salle track and field teams competed Friday evening at the Ott Center hosted by the University of Pennsylvania.
Freshman Jacob Gardner ran the mile in 4:06.29 to get third, with sophomore Callum Murray not far behind to get fifth with a time of 4:08.52. Freshman Caleb Johnson placed sixth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.05, while freshman Jonathan Schuck crossed the finish line in 7.22 in the 60-meter dash.
In the 500-meter sprint, sophomore Evan Dias went fourth and freshman Joshua Johnson sixth with time sof 1:05.78 and 1:06.03, respectively. Sophomore Ricky Lee went 2:28.41 to get eighth in the 1k, then Schuck and junior Deion McIntosh went 1-2 in the 300-meter dash with times of 35.76 and 35.78, respectively.
On the women's side, three women placed in the top-10 in the mile. Freshman Beca Bown was third (4:55.58), followed by senior Georgia-Rose Dawson in seventh (4:59.42) and sophomore Cara Coppolino (5:09.83) in tenth. Junior Soleil Morrison was fourth in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.68, and sophomore Jorden Gore's time of 7.75 got her seventh.
Sophomore Adaugo Ilonze got sixth in the 200-meter dash (25.79), and sophomore Amelia Green went fifth in the 3k (10:27.19). To conclude the day, senior Emma Taylor was tenth in the 3k with a time of 10:48.6.
La Salle track & field return to racing next Friday in the A-10 Championships at the Virginia Beach Sports Center in Virginia Beach, VA. The two-day meet will be streamed on ESPN+.
