This Week In La Salle Athletics: Baseball Hosts Four Home Games, Women’s Lacrosse Home Saturday

Here is a look of the action to come this week for La Salle Athletics, brought to you by Hershey's Ice Cream.

Baseball

With the season having eclipsed the midway point this past weekend, the Explorers embark on a marathon week with five consecutive games this week, playing Tuesday through Saturday.

The week begins with a pair of midweek contests, on the road at Bucknell Tuesday at 3:30 pm before returning home for a tilt against Iona on Wednesday at 3:00 pm.

Wednesday's game is the first of a four-game homestand. The Explorers will then Welcome Richmond to Hank DeVincent Field for an Atlantic 10 Conference series to be played Thursday-Saturday. Thursday and Friday's games will start at 3:00 pm while Saturday's first pitch is slated for 1:00 pm.

La Salle salvaged the final game of this weekend's series at George Washington as Kosei Suzuki hit a go-ahead home run to complete a come-from-behind victory. The Explorers find themselves at .500 (14-14) with 27 games remaining.

Women's Lacrosse

On Saturday, La Salle returns home for the first time since March 18 to host Richmond at 11:00 am in an A-10 contest. The Explorers' scoring leader, Emi Waldron, netted a pair of goals despite a Saturday trip-up at Saint Joseph's. Waldron now has 35 goals on the season.

Women's Golf

Following their first tournament in Grasonville, MD last weekend, the Explorers will participate in the YSU Spring Invitational at Avalon Lakes Golf Course in Warren, OH.

Nina Okenkova led the Explorers in Maryland, shooting +28 across two rounds at Prospect Bay Country Club.

Track and Field

The teams compete at Princeton this Saturday at the Sam Howell Invite. The meet starts at 11:30 am.

Last Friday, senior Gwenno Goode placed 12th in the 3k steeplechase with a time of 10:15.38.
