This Week In La Salle Athletics: Track & Field Competes In Penn Relays, Baseball Hosts 4 Games

Here is a look of the action to come this week for La Salle Athletics, brought to you by Hershey's Ice Cream.   
 
Baseball 
  • La Salle continues its eight-game homestand with four more at Hank DeVincent Field this week. The Explorers will host Manhattan in a midweek contest Tuesday at 3:00 pm and then welcome in Big 5 rival and Atlantic 10 Conference-leading Saint Joseph's for a weekend series.  
  • La Salle's bats will look to stay hot in the friendly confines of The Hank, as Alec Welshans, Carter Groen, Rueben Livingston, and Chase Swain all homered during last weekend's series against Fordham. Welshans had three homers in one game in the series opener last Friday.

Women's Lacrosse 
  • La Salle heads south to North Carolina to face Davidson on Saturday in the season finale. The game is scheduled for a 12 noon start.  
  • Emi Waldron and Delaney Staples scored a pair of goals each in La Salle's last time out, against St. Bonaventure last Saturday.

Track and Field 
  • Explorers track and field returns to Franklin Field to run in the 130th edition of the Penn Relays this weekend, beginning on Thursday. The meet will be streamed on FloSports. 
  • Last week, sophomore Jorden Gore broke her own program record in the 100-meter dash, finishing third in 11.81.

Women's Rowing 
  • After sweeping Loyola Maryland across four races last weekend, the Blue and Gold will return to the Schuylkill River on Saturday for the Kelly Cup, where they'll face off with other local schools.

Men's Rowing 
  • Following a week off from competition, the Explorers will return to the Schuylkill River on Saturday for the annual Bergen Cup, where they'll face off with other local schools.
