Philadelphia, PA – The La Salle men's basketball team has signed freshman Jay Nelson Mboudjika for the 2026-27 season.
The 6'10 forward, who also had offers from Rhode Island, St. Bonaventure, and Bryant, comes to La Salle after successful high school career at CATS Academy, where he averaged eight points and eight rebounds per game last season.
At the AAU level, Mboudjika competed for Expressions Elite, where he stood out for his length and mobility, which allow him to guard multiple positions and protect the rim.
Originally from Cameroon, Mboudjika will be one of five international student-athletes to compete for the Explorers this upcoming season, joining
Bowyn Beatty (Australia),
Arlan Masharaliyev (Kazakhstan),
Francois Nkoy-Eale (Ireland), and
Vice Zanki (Croatia).
Mboudjika will be the third freshman on the roster in 2026-27, joining
RJ Smith and
Breylon Webb.
