Women's Rugby Unveils 2026 Schedule

Philadelphia, PA – La Salle women's rugby head coach Kelsie McDowell announced the Explorers' 2026 schedule on Wednesday afternoon as the program prepares for its second varsity season.

La Salle will open the fall with an exhibition match at Mount St. Mary's on Aug. 24 before officially kicking off the 2026 regular season at home against Princeton on Sept. 5 at Hank DeVincent Field.

The Explorers will then hit the road for back-to-back contests, traveling to Army on Sept. 12 and returning to Mount St. Mary's for a regular-season matchup on Sept. 19. La Salle will return to Hank DeVincent Field to take on Temple on Sept. 26.

October features a pair of home matches as La Salle welcomes Navy on Oct. 3 and West Chester on Oct. 24. The Explorers will close the regular season on the road at LIU on Oct. 31.

La Salle returns a strong core of experienced players from last season, including leading try scorers Kaylie Castro and Maeve Delaney, along with several key veterans who helped establish the foundation of the program during its inaugural campaign. The Explorers will also welcome an exciting recruiting class that looks to build on the momentum heading into year two.

"Year two is about taking the foundation we built and continuing to grow together," McDowell said. "Our returning players have set an inspirational example of what it means to wear a La Salle jersey, and we're excited to see our newcomers embrace that culture. We can't wait to compete in front of our fans and continue building something special."

The Explorers enter 2026 after a successful inaugural varsity campaign in 2025, highlighted by a pair of victories over Temple and the establishment of a competitive, culture-driven program poised to continue its growth.
