Philadelphia, PA – Sophomore forward Kayden Williams scored her first goal of the season as the La Salle women's soccer team drew 1-1 against Drexel on Friday afternoon at McCarthy Stadium.
With the result, both teams moved to 1-2-1 overall in 2026, despite La Salle having a 22-6 advantage in total shots and an 11-3 edge in shots on goal in the contest.
Williams, a 2025 Atlantic 10 All-Rookie selection, entered the game as a substitute in the 22nd minute and equalized for La Salle in the same minute by placing a shot in the lower left corner past the reach of Drexel's goalkeeper Gracie Sullivan.
Justyce Hollenbach, a graduate student forward, recorded her second assist of the season, and junior defender Sienna Mount recorded her second career assist. Hollenbach also led the Explorers with three shots on goal.
Junior goalkeeper Samantha Widnick made two saves against her former team, including stops in the 88th and 89th minutes to keep the game deadlocked.
Drexel jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 10th minute on a strike in the upper left corner by Jess Castorina. Sullivan made a career-high 10 saves for the Dragons.
The Explorers will return to McCarthy Stadium on Sunday, August 30, to face Columbia. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
