HAVERFORD, Pa. – The La Salle men's and women's cross country teams competed in the Main Line Invite to start their 2026 cross country seasons Friday afternoon. Overall, the women finished in fourth place with a total of 91 points, and the men finished in fifth place, with a total of 132 points. Six members of the women's team and two members of the men's teams set personal bests in their races.
Senior Gwenno Goode won the women's 5K event with a personal best time of 17:44.0, and was followed by sophomore Beca Bown, placing 16th overall with a personal best time of 18:17.2. Senior Katherine Rogers and junior Amelia Green were right behind Bown, earning 23rd and 24th places with times of 18:28.5 and a personal best 18:29.3, respectively. Not far behind them, junior Cara Coppolino earned 27th place with a personal best time of 18:31.4, and was followed by sophomore Niamh Partridge in 36th place, earning a time of 18:57.9. Natalie Clauhs, another sophomore, finished in 54th place with a personal best time of 19:41.6. After her, freshmen Lindsay McCorkel and Gianna Chipriano finished in 57th and 79th, with times of 19:57.0 and 20:50.2, respectively. Senior Catey Gandolfo-Lucia rounded out the finishing for the women's team in 85th, with a personal best time of 21:09.0.
The men's side was led by sophomore Seán Cronin, earning eighth place in the four-mile run with a time of 19:51.6. Sophomore Nicholas Dobbie followed in 20th place, finishing in a personal best 20:12.5. Ricky Lee, a junior, finished 37th with a personal best time of 20:46.8. Taylor Goodwin, a freshman, finished 67th with a time of 21:55.8. Senior Gustavo David Galarza Maldonado followed in 75th, with a time of 22:17.2. Finishing out the scoring for the men were freshman Brett Westerfer and Eddie Grace with times of 23:07.9 and 23:24.8, earning them 94th and 99th, respectively. Another freshman, Alex Toran, rounds out the men's finishing order in 108th, with a time of 23:40.9.
The Explorers return to the course on Saturday, September 26, when both teams race in the Meadows Challenge in Princeton, N.J. The meet will start at 10:30 a.m.
