La Salle University Athletics

2020: Made two relief appearances out of the bullpen during shortened freshman season… Struck out three over 1.1 innings pitched… Made La Salle debut in game-two win over Hofstra, striking out all three batters he faced (2/22).

Background: Four-year letter winner at Neumann Goretti… Philadelphia Catholic League Pitcher of the Year as a senior… Twice named First Team All-Catholic League… Went 5-2 with a 1.62 ERA and 66 strikeouts as a senior… As a junior, notched a 1.33 ERA with 48 strikeouts… Second Team All-Catholic as a sophomore after going 5-1 with three saves and a 2.74 ERA, recorded a save in state championship… Back-to-back Catholic League and PIAA 2A State Champions (2016-2017).
 
Personal: Son of Marisa and Joseph Messina… National Honor Society and Student Body President in high school… Chose La Salle for family atmosphere… Major is Business.
