High School: A 2013 attendee of the Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) Player Development Program Mid-Atlantic Camp, Kirsch-Downs was a member of the Super Y Olympic Development Program (ODP) Camp and was invited to the US Soccer Training Center twice.
Kirsch-Downs led the Freestate Storm (ECNL) in assists last season (12) en route to becoming Bethesda Tournament Finalists. The senior captain helped lead her Arundel High School squad to a program-best record (16-2) in 2013, being named Arundel County Champions in the process. The Maryland Association of Coaches of Soccer twice recognized the forward for All-State honors.
Kirsch-Downs on choosing La Salle: "Once I stepped on campus I knew I felt at home. La Salle has an outstanding atmosphere and great academics. The team chemistry is amazing and the passion the coaches and staff have for the future of the women's soccer program made me motivated to play in such a competitive environment."
Coach Royal: "What impressed us the most was Clarissa's excellent vision in the final pass, her high soccer IQ and her ability to break down defenders in the final third. She'll immediately be looked upon to shoulder some of our attacking responsibilities this upcoming season. Her ability to play multiple positions should also provide quality depth as well. We are very excited about seeing Clarissa take her game to the next step in the Atlantic 10 and into another NCAA Tournament. We truly believe she has the potential to become an All-Region and All-American type of player just as one of our all-time greats, Renee Washington."
