Postgame Quotes - La Salle vs. Davidson (1/19/17)

Postgame Quotes

La Salle v Davidson

Jan. 19, 2017 | Tom Gola Arena

Head Coach John Giannini

Opening Statement:
“Well we’re thrilled. Davidson is one of the toughest outs you’ll face as a coach, you know they’re going to be a wonderful shooting team, you know they’re going to have some great players, you know they’re going to execute better than anyone, you know they’re going to be tough. It’s an elusive win and we’re thrilled that we got it.”

“I thought some keys: obviously we finished the first half really strong, they made great runs but we outrebounded them, Demetrius’ rebounds were huge, only 11 turnovers for the game. I thought it was key that we didn’t put them on the line too much. Of course, again, you just look at some of the efficiency of things. Pookie Powell 6-for-10 and one turnover, Jordan 9-for14 and rebounding the ball, so yeah we were efficient, we played together and we played good enough defense by holding them to- it’s weird to say holding them to five three’s, but against that team we really are just holding them to five.”

Senior Guard Jordan Price

On his personal playing tonight:
“I think I played pretty good, but I know I can do better. I had five turnovers and that’s a key to my game that I shouldn’t be turning the ball over and Coach G always expresses that very clearly. It was overall a good team effort tonight, I think we all did well tonight and came out with a win.”

On chemistry of the team:
“I feel like our chemistry has always been great. We’re brothers on and off the court. Off the court translates to on the court, so that’s what you see right now, just sharing the ball and having fun.”

On looking ahead:
“We take it one day at a time. We have goals, but we take everything one day at a time."
