Coach Yurkonis is entering his third season as assistant baseball coach for La Salle in 2016, and works primarily with catchers and infielders.
Yurkonis most recently served as an assistant for nationally ranked Keystone College in La Plume, Pa. Yurkonis helped Keystone rank in the top 10 nationally in four consecutive seasons, and led the Giants to their first regional championship and their first appearance in the Division III World Series.
Prior to his time at Keystone, Yurkonis worked as the Interim Associate Head Coach of the Arcadia University Knights. In his one year stint with the Knights in 2008, Coach Yurkonis helped lead the program to their first appearance in the Freedom Conference Playoffs.
Yurkonis also spent time coaching in the prestigious New England Collegiate Baseball League with the Danbury Westerners, working with some of the top collegiate talent in the nation. While in the NECBL, Yurkonis helped the Westerners to consecutive post season appearances and a NECBL Championship Series appearance.
Yurkonis started his coaching career with Gibbsboro Voorhees Athletic Association in the late 1990's. He has also served as a coach for local programs throughout his career including Eastern High School, Gibbsboro American Legion, nationally ranked Gloucester Catholic High School, Tri State Arsenal, the NJ Super 17's, and the multiple-time World Series Champion Brooklawn American Legion . Yurkonis has worked with over 60 players that have signed professional contracts during his 15+ years coaching.
