Scott Grimes

Scott Grimes will enter his fifth season as an assistant baseball coach at La Salle in 2016. He  works primarily with the Explorer hitters and outfielders.

Grimes recently retired from an eight-year stint in professional baseball, most recently spending three years for the York Revolution in the Atlantic League. His three year stint with the Revolution produced some of the gaudiest numbers in franchise history. Grimes ranks first in club history in stolen bases (67), runs (296), triples (13), walks (200), and games played (347). He also ranks second in home runs (45) and fourth in doubles (69) in the club’s annals.

Prior to his time in the Atlantic League, Grimes excelled for the Worcester Tornadoes in the Can-Am League, where he was named Player of the Year in 2008. He established a league record with 87 runs scored that season and set a franchise record in batting average (.365) while popping 21 home runs.

An '05 graduate of Keystone College, Grimes amassed a .481 career batting average, including .573 and .506 in single seasons. Grimes attended high school locally at Kennett High School, where he excelled on the basketball court as well as the baseball diamond. He has recently spent his offseasons as an instructor at All Star Baseball Academy in Downingtown.
