Biography

"The only silver lining in last year[apos]s rash of injuries is getting a medical hardship approved for Ruben to play this year. He is a proven offensive player who will be a consistent scorer. He has always been our best outside shooter, ball handler and passer. As he elevates his defense and leadership, he has the potential to have a great season." - Head Coach Dr. John Giannini.

2010-11 (12.6 ppg./2.6 rpg./2.5 apg.): Led Explorers with 59 three-point field goals...Third on team in scoring (12.6 ppg.) and assists (79)...Finished career with 1,168 points, good for 37th all-time at La Salle...Hit game-tying shots in regulation and overtime in 2OT win at St. Bonaventure in A-10 First Round (3/8)...Scored put-back with 19 seconds left to give La Salle lead over Saint Louis; Also had 20 points (2/5)...Tied career-high with six three-pointers on his way to 24 points vs. Duquesne (1/19)...Scored 24 points (22 after halftime) and made 9-for-11 free throws in win over Penn (1/12)..Dished career-high nine assists versus Bucknell (12/17)...Tied career-high with eight rebounds vs. Oklahoma State (12/4)...Hit go-ahead three-pointer with 1:05 left to help lead La Salle to win over Delaware State (11/29)...Named to Cancun Challenge All-Tournament team after averaging 13.0 ppg...Had 17 points vs. Prairie View...Named Big 5 Player of the Week after career-high 29 points, including 25 in the second half, versus Columbia (11/12)...Also set career-highs in minutes (37), three-pointers (six) and field goals (11).

2009-10 (9.5 ppg./0.8 rpg./3.3 apg.): Appeared in four games before suffering a stress fracture during the Charleston Classic...Missed the remainder of the season...Averaged 9.5 ppg. and shot .615 (8-for-13) from three-point range...Had 13 assists to six turnovers...Scored season-best 11 points on three three-pointers versus Davidson (11/20)...Had five assists in season-opener versus Hampton (11/14).

2008-09 (10.1 ppg./2.5 rpg./3.1 apg.): Appeared in all 31 games with 17 starts... Netted career-high 22 points twice (vs. Manhattan on 12/31, at George Washington on 2/11)... Pulled down career-high eight boards against Manhattan (12/31)... Scored in double figures 19 times...One of four Explorers to average double figures (10.1 ppg)... Second on team with 96 assists... Leading scorer in four contests... Went a perfect 4-for-4 from beyond the arc against Temple (1/11).

2007-08 (7.7 ppg./1.5 rpg./2.1 apg.): Missed first five games with wrist tendonitis...scored 10 or more points in 10 games...top returning three-point shooter in conference games (.441)...led team in assists in seven games.

2006-07 (8.0 ppg./2.1 rpg./2.6 apg.): Appeared in all 30 games with 22 starts . . . led team in scoring twice...posted season/career high 21 points on 2/28 at UMass...went 9-10 from free throw line on 2/7 against Duquesne... averaged 10.1 ppg over final 11 games of the season...leader in assists per game among returning players (2.6)...went 9-9 from field against Niagara on 12/30.
