Ahmed Elgayar

Ahmed Elgayar began his time as an assistant men's soccer coach at La Salle in 2023 and was elevated to Associate Head Coach ahead of the 2025 season.. He is the team's recruiting coordinator and the team liaison to our sports medicine and strength and conditioning regarding individual player development. 

Elgayar came to La Salle after spending one season as a senior staff coach with Philadelphia Union Youth. Prior to that, the Philadelphia native served as head coach at Chestnut Hill for nearly three years where he recruited over 30 players and coached two players to first team all-conference honors. Elgayar was top assistant at his alma mater, Holy Family, for six seasons. Elgayar helped the Tigers to a pair of conference tournament berths in 2018 and 2019, as well as coaching ten student-athletes to All-Conference honors. He was the lead on all recruiting operations at Holy Family.

Prior to his coaching career, Elgayar played professionally for the Al Masry Soccer Club of the Egyptain Soccer League (EPL1) in 2014. He also spent three seasons playing with the Philadelphia Fury of the American Soccer League (ASL). Elgayar played for Holy Family University at the DII level from 2010-14.

He also has extensive youth coaching experience, which includes his relationship with the highly-respected Philadelphia Ukrainians. He worked directly with the U16 and U14 ECNL groups. He has also directed the nationally-ranked Philadelphia Soccer Club's 2004 Boys' team (2014-20), the FC Europa Soccer Club Boys Elite (2021-23) and worked as an assistant with Father Judge High School (2015-16).

Elgayar possesses a US Soccer National "C" License.
