Former Atlantic 10 men's soccer student-athlete and local coach Mike Discavage enters his third season on the La Salle University men's soccer staff after joining as Assistant Coach in August, 2019.

In his first season with the team, La Salle increased its win total by five games and made an appearance in the Atlantic 10 postseason. In his second season, the Explorers had a total of three year-end Atlantic 10 award winners.

Discavage came to La Salle after spending the previous year as an assistant coach at nearby Haverford College. There, he mainly worked with goalkeepers and helped the Fords win the 2018 Centennial Conference title while earning a bid in the NCAA tournament.

Prior to that, Discavage coached as an assistant for Harriton High School in Rosemont, Pa., where he helped the team to a district finals appearance and a state tournament berth for the first time in 10 years. He has also assisted the Lower Merion Soccer Club since 2017.

In college, Discavage played two seasons in the Atlantic 10 Conference for the University of Rhode Island. During his time with the Rams, he played in 16 contests, making eight starts on defense as a sophomore with an assist to his credit. In high school, the Holland, Pa., native was a local standout at Council Rock High School and with FC Delco. At Council Rock, Discavage was a two-time all-state and first team all-conference selection and won two state championships.

Discavage graduated from Rhode Island in 2016 with a bachelor's degree in pharmaceutical sciences.
