Ashley Prim enters her first season as a women's basketball assistant coach in 2021-22 after being hired to that post in June of 2021.
Prim spent the 2020-21 season as an assistant coach at Sacred Heart University after serving the previous season as the coordinator of basketball operations.
Prim spent her collegiate playing career at Saint Joseph's (2009-13) where she scored 927 points in 123 career games. She helped lead the Hawks to a mark of 82-47 during her time there. She was a team captain during Saint Joseph's 2012-13 Atlantic-10 Championship winning season. She garnered significant honors, including Big 5 Co-Rookie of the Year (2009-10), Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team (2009-10), and Atlantic 10 Sixth Player of the Year (2010-11).
Prim graduated with a bachelor's of science degree in sports marketing and was a member of the Atlantic-10 and SJU Athletic Director's Honor Rolls. Prim spent her first three seasons on Hawk Hill playing for current Explorers' Associate Head Coach
Chris Day.
Her playing days continued as she spent time in professional leagues in five countries including Puerto Rico, Bulgaria, Ireland, Mongolia and Dubai.
Prior to SHU, Prim spent time as an assistant coach for both the Kolbe Cathedral girls’ basketball and boys’ volleyball teams in the 2018-19 season.
