Sally McGovern enters her first season as the director of women’s basketball operations at La Salle in 2018.
In her new role, McGovern will handle the daily operations of the women’s basketball program. She will be responsible for practice schedules, travel arrangements, game day operations as well as promoting camps and community service.
McGovern spent 12 years working within sports operations with Future Stars Camps and Haverford Soccer Club. She managed all aspects of the organizations’ operations. She coordinated camp registration for over 500 campers on an annual basis, while also managing the organizations’ budgets, scheduling, and day-to-day operations.
McGovern also served as the President of the School Advisory Board of St. Denis School and served on the Implementation Committee for Cardinal Foley Regional Elementary School. In this role, she liaised with the Archdiocese of Philadelphia to form a new regional catholic school after a merger of two parish-based schools. She also led the marketing efforts for the elementary school for pre-school through eighth grades.
McGovern holds her bachelor’s degree from Villanova University. She and her husband, Brett, reside in Havertown with their four daughters, Maggie, Sarah, Annie and Kate.
