2014: Appeared in 15 games, including two starts, in her first season with the Explorers after transferring from Coastal Carolina…Scored her only goal of the season in a win over Massachusetts in the opening round of the A-10 tournament…Had four shots on the season.

High School: Jonsson spent two seasons as a standout student-athlete at Coastal Carolina University prior to transferring to La Salle.  During her career as a Chanticleer, Jonsson earned First and Second Team All-Big-South honors and was selected as Freshman of the Year in 2012.  Last season, she scored five goals and dished out two assists, finishing the year tied for second on the squad in goals and third in points (12). After missing the first four games due to illness, she notched goals in each of her first three games of the season, including the game-winner against Kent State (9/6).
 
During her rookie season, Jonsson was one of five Chanticleers to start all 19 games and finished fifth on the squad with 1,341 minutes.  The Sweden native led the team with five assists and was second in goals (6) and points (17).  Off the field, Jonsson was named to the 2012-13 Big South Presidential Honor Roll.
 
Growing up in Nykoping, Jonsson represented Sweden at both the U15 and U16 levels and was named a member of the Swedish All-Star team in 2007.
 
Coach Royal: "Fia's already a proven top-level Division 1 talent by being one of the Big South Conference premier players these last two years.  With college and past Swedish Youth National team experience, Fia has the potential to become one of the most complete and dangerous midfielders in the A-10.  We're also very excited about seeing her team up with past All A-10 midfielders, Maryam Huseini and Anna Dolhansky…when those three players are performing at their highest level,  I don't think you'll find a better midfield in the Mid Atlantic region…It'll be our challenge to develop that chemistry with one of the premier forward lines in the region."
