Biography
2018: Named to Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll... Played in 16 games with 11 starts… Recorded two assists… Notched first career assist against Saint Joseph’s… Registered an assist over Rhode Island… Played every minute against Manhattan.
2017: Appeared in 19 games, including 11 starts as La Salle tied the program record for wins in a season with 17...Helped La Salle tie the program record with 13 shutouts and a 0.76 goals-against average…Had three shots on the season, including one on goal against Iona (8/24).
2016: Appeared in 15 games (10 starts) as a redshirt sophomore in 2016…Made first career start against NC State (8/19)…Played career-high 106 minutes in 1-0 shutout win over UMass in double OT…Helped La Salle to shutout wins over Temple (8/28) and George Mason (10/27)…Played 48 minutes in La Salle’s shutout of Davidson in double OT…Took five shots on the season, putting three on goal.
2015: Appeared in 10 games as a redshirt freshman for the Explorers... Registered two shots on goal for the season.
2014: Utilized a redshirt season.
High School: Rufe spent five years playing for the Eastern PA Olympic Development Program (ODP) Team including a U15 squad that traveled abroad to compete in both Denmark and Sweden. As a senior captain, Rufe was named the Pennridge High School Defensive MVP in a year that saw the squad win its fourth consecutive Suburban One Continuental Conference Championship.
Rufe on choosing La Salle: "It's simple: I chose La Salle because it was a perfect match for me academically and athletically. I can't see myself going anywhere else."
Coach Royal: "After attending our clinic fresh off an ACL injury, we were unsure of what Julia's potential would be at La Salle. However, she has shown such an amazing work ethic, passion, and will to reach the next level since then. Her commitment and desire to getting back to full strength is something we love about her...it's those types of players that have made some of the greatest strides for our program in the past. This upcoming season, she will be looked upon to add depth on the defensive side of things. But, with her continued development on the field, we're very confident that she will become an integral part of our future here at La Salle."
