PHILADELPHIA – After breaking two school records and winning three individual events at the Bucknell Invite last weekend, swimming senior Austin Thomas has been named both the Atlantic 10 Performer of the Week and the La Salle Student-Athlete of The Week.
 
The Cherry Hill, N.J. native broke his own 50-free record during the first day of competition, swimming a 20.32 in the event preliminaries to beat his record of 20.42 set at the A-10 Championships in February.  He went on to take gold in the event finals.
 
On the second day of competition, Thomas broke teammate Edward Carnes’ school record in the 100-fly, clocking in at 48.61 in the preliminaries.  Thomas also won the event finals in 49.30.
 
Thomas rounded out his weekend by winning the 100-free in 45.38.  The senior also helped the 200-free rely to second-place with a fast 19.94 split and anchored the 200-medley relay to victory.
 
This is the second time that the senior has received each of these honors this season.
