Sophomore distance runner Meghan McGlinchey has been named GoExplorers.com Student Athlete of the Week for her impressive victory on Friday in the 3k event at the Georgetown Spiked Shoe Invitational.

In the first meet of the spring semester, McGlinchey out-kicked Georgetown All-American Emily Jones by two tenths of a second to earn the victory in the 3,000-meter event.

McGlinchey's time of 9:50.27 also qualified her for the ECAC Championships that will be held in Boston on March 3-4.
