Maryam Huseini has been named GoExplorers.com Student-Athlete of the Week for October 8.

Huseini assisted three of the Explorer's four goals over the weekend, including two game-winning goals in La Salle's victories over Richmond and VCU, both by a 2-1 margin. The conference victories improved the Explorers record to 10-3 on the season, including a 4-0 mark in the Atlantic 10.

“It takes a whole lot to win a game,” Huseini said. “Everyone has to stay engaged and be happy together all the time.

“This weekend really showed that we are like that as a team.”

The sophomore midfielder has now tallied six assists on the year, already topping her mark of five a season ago. She is only two assists away from cracking the top 10 on the school's all-time career record list.
