Live Stats Link

PHILADELPHIA – The Explorers will work for their second Atlantic 10 victory when they face Charlotte, on the campus of Philadelphia University, and George Washington this weekend.

La Salle looks to rebound after losses to Duquesne and Saint Louis last weekend.

On Friday night, La Salle (5-19, 1-6) will play Charlotte (7-12, 1-6) at 7:00 p.m. at Philadelphia University's Gallagher Center in what will be a home contest for the Explorers.

The 49ers should present some good competition for La Salle. They are coming off their first A-10 win of the season, as they defeated Fordham 3-1 at home on Sunday.

The weekend earned two Charlotte players A-10 recognition.  Middle blockers Amanda Videmsek and Savannah Gaster were named the Defensive Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively.

Videmsek led the 49ers with 14 blocks on the weekend, while Gaster hit .438 in the victory over Fordham.

On Saturday evening, the Explorers return to Tom Gola Arena for a 7:00 p.m. match up with George Washington.

Fans should wear pink on Saturday and join the volleyball team in its fundraising efforts for the Side-out Foundation.  The foundation supports breast cancer research and treatments and spreads the message about early detection.  Help the Explorers reach their donation goal by giving here.

The Colonials sit at 15-6 overall and 4-3 in the league.  They currently sit in fifth place after defeating Fordham and Rhode Island last weekend.

A well-rounded team, Lauren Whyte is second in the league in kills with 3.89 per set, while Candace Martin-Silva is second in digs per set with 4.90.
