PHILADELPHIA – La Salle dropped its Saturday evening match to George Washington, 3-0 (25-18, 25-21, 25-20) at Tom Gola Arena.

Kourtney Clark posted 20 assists. Defensively,
Breanna Mazalewski had a team-leading 15 digs.
The Explorers fell behind 7-3 in the first set after four straight George Washington points.
An ace by junior
Samantha Tulskie closed the gap to 14-9 and then 14-10 after a Colonials attack error.
The teams traded sideouts, but then George Washington earned two straight points to go ahead 18-12.
The Explorers would get within four again at 20-16, but couldn't gain any more ground, falling 25-18.
In the second set, the Explorers took the early lead. A block by Mitrovich made the score 5-3 in La Salle's favor and then 6-3 after a GW attack error.
However, the Colonials used two La Salle attack errors and a kill by Taylor Knox to knot the score at 10-all.
The teams traded points, with seven ties taking place, until GW was able to take a 19-17 lead after a kill by Knox.
La Salle knotted up the score at 20-all, but two straight GW points put the squad ahead as it closed the set out 25-21.
The Explorers came out strong in the third set. They won a long rally to go up 7-3 and then extended it to 8-3 after a Scanlon ace.
The Colonials would work their way back into the set, tying the score at 11-all after a kill by Rachel Goss and then taking a one point lead on the next play.
With a GW attack error and two kills by Scanlon, La Salle was able to go ahead 14-12. The Explorers extended that lead to 18-14.
Again, the Colonials got back into the game by tying the score at 19. After a La Salle timeout, GW gained four straight points and would win 25-20.
Goss and Knox each posted 11 kills for George Washington.
La Salle will next face city rival Temple on the road on Friday evening.
