Men's Varsity Eight Posts Top 15 Finish at Head of the Charles

BOSTON - The men's varsity eight, competing for the second straight year at the prestigious Head of the Charles, posted a strong result as the boat came in 14th out of 39 boats on Saturday afternoon.

The V8 raced a time of 15:54.842, edging Wesleyan by just eight-hundredths of a second. Williams College took the race with a time of 15:09.568.

Competing for the Explorers were coxswain Keith Ferguson, stroke Matt Horn, Brett Kader, Steven Devine, Michael Hopp, Giovanni Finazzo, Sandor Kokeny, Tyler Sullivan and bow Jonathan Shank.

The Head of the Charles is the world's largest two-day rowing event and started in 1965. More than 8,000 athletes compete in the three-mile-long head race.
